Dan Clews and The Stars Above draw on influences from a diverse spectrum of styles, from the deep roots of country to the early progression of psychedelia and folk, and they have a knack for killer melodies.

The band is led by principal singer and songwriter Dan Clews, from Kent. He is joined by Sweden's finest, The Stars Above, who are based in Stockholm and Gothenburg. Samuel Hellberg plays bass, Micke Kungshatt is on keyboards, Nissa Tornqvist is on drums and the lead guitarist is Jesper Jarold.

Dan is the one who looks most Swedish, even though he's not.

The Stars Above have recently been recording tracks

in Gothenburg for a new record, their first release with the current line-up. They are set to spin a few heads with what is turning out to be an epic psychedelic collaboration. They have also been gaining a following though playing dates in the UK, while Nissa and Micke have played with award-winning Icelandic reggae stars Hjálmar and have supported Snoop Dogg.

Since emerging in the UK in 2004, the band have played @ The Troubadour, The Barfly, The Spitz, The Bedford, Cargo, 93 Feet East, The Cobden Club, The Pressure Point (Brighton), The Zanzi Bar (Liverpool), The Cluny (Newcastle), The Acoustic Lounge and The Betsey Trotwood. They have played alongside some great bands including support for Bloc Party, Transcargo and Span. They've had airplay on on national radio, XFM and other networks, and played a session for Virgin Radio
